Within very short few days the majority of Ireland, together with the rest of Christians, will be celebrating the start of Christmas. The end of the year is also nearing uncontrollably… And so are my Esxence Diary entries! 🙂
Tonight I share with you my impressions on another fantastic Italian perfume house – Tiziana Terenzi.

This is a relatively new family owned perfume house, originally established as Cereria Terenzi in 1968 producing candles. Now, Paolo and Tiziana Terenzi are the heart and soul of it. Their earliest perfumes were released in 2012. All of the perfumes have very intimate stories behind, which for example incorporate either memories from their childhood or pay tribute to Italy, etc.
I especially love the Luna and Stars of the Moon Collections. The bottles caps of these collections are representing our stellar system, with the Moon circling around the Sun… As I kid, and even now, I would always look up to a night sky searching for the Plough. All these constellations would look so magical to me, and I always believed that another kind of people lived there, in each one of them… And then – at the Esxence show – I discovered Tiziana Terenzi! Such a beautiful idea! 🙂 During the perfume exhibition I was able to try fragrances Draco, Andromeda, Porpora.

Also, I was very lucky to bring a little sample with me home! 🙂 A drop of something chocolaty and woody 🙂 Enter – Maremma.

Maremma comes from a Classic or Fire collection. The fragrance pays a tribute to the hills and valleys of Maremma in Tuscany, where the Italian cowboys – Buttero – ride their horses. 🙂
Maremma is beast of a fragrance! It is deliciously sweet and powerful. Launched in 2013, created by Paolo Terenzi, this scent is full of surprises, too. A lot of users on Fragrantica compare this perfume to Tom Ford’s Black Orchid (edp, released in 2006). I could agree they both carry a similar vibe of sweet chocolate and patchouli, however, there is so much more to Maremma in terms of depth and variety of notes that Black Orchid stays just where it was – just a chocolate and patchouli scent to me…
Personally, I find Maremma to be a very complex fragrance. It opens up with a beautiful blend of fruity florals, enriched with a delicious mix of cacao + patchouli + oud. The notes of Maremma are so intertwined! Every time I sniff my wrists, I am amazed at how different it smells! Every time I am hit with either gentle florals, or cumin, or fruits, or more oud, all enveloped with sweet chocolate and patchouli scent… So much density, so much depth, and intensity!…
Also, one or two sprays of Maremma come a long way.. I once made a little mistake of over-spraying it without knowing 🙂 it was slightly overwhelming early in the morning in a tiny coffee shop… 😀 With enormous longevity, it will also last you until the next day… So, I’d say, use it sparingly on the first part of the day with another reapplication later in the afternoon if you’re going out. Maremma is a very versatile scent, full of surprises. Thanks to the fantastic quality of the ingredients, you get to properly enjoy this delicious fragrance! Try and see where it takes you…. 🙂
With time permitting, I am sure I will be seeking to try more of Tiziana Terenzi creations 🙂 Do you have your favourite fragrance from this House?

Tiziana Terenzi does not have a representative in Ireland yet. So, unless you’re stopping by at Harrods in London, or travelling across the globe, you might as well order online. Now, as the brand does not offer an online shopping option just yet, their fragrances are very much available via the representative sites. E.g. Jovoy Paris are offering free shipping to Ireland for orders over €150, which is pretty handy as the majority of Tiziana Terenzi creations come at €160 to €300+ per 100ml bottle. Sample order deliveries will cost €20.
Also, whenever you’re in Milan, do pop in to Zhor Parfums. It is a beautiful and very cozy store filled with gorgeous exclusive niche scents, including Tiziana Terenzi collection.

I would like to thank Tiziana Terenzi team for the beautiful sample tester of Maremma and also for the image I used in this post. I really enjoyed my experience back at the Esxence exhibition. Thank you for taking your time to talk me, too. ❤
