Recently, my nose has been acting up and for a very long while I wasn’t able to enjoy many fragrances as much as I usually would… The very few scents helped me get through this time, and one of them was the wonderful creamy perfection dedicated to iris – Splendiris by Parfums Dusita.

Architecture, literature, music, painting, sculpting, poetry…. Art… Onyrico – the Italian perfume house is all about paying tribute to the Italian art…. It is about taking the time to appreciate, evaluate, admire… Onyrico is creativity… It is a dream that becomes a reality. Onyrico is about freedom and independence.

This week I am taking my first steps into Arabic / Oriental scents with Kajal Perfumes Paris.
The Arabic world has fascinated me since my early days because it is so different from everything in the mainland Europe. Sand storms, intense heat, camels…where do I even begin?
It was quite an unusual November and December in relation to perfumes. I kept going through my sample stash, trying out new scents. Some became my favourites instantly, the others I will be hardly coming back to just yet… Unless, a few months later my nose will crave for something new to re-discover… 🙂
Within very short few days the majority of Ireland, together with the rest of Christians, will be celebrating the start of Christmas. The end of the year is also nearing uncontrollably… And so are my Esxence Diary entries! 🙂
Tonight I share with you my impressions on another fantastic Italian perfume house – Tiziana Terenzi.

This year is drawing to an end, and it is quite unbelievable how quick! With the festive season approaching faster than I can grasp on to the saddle, and with only three weeks until the start of 2019, let me introduce you to another delicious fragrance which I am sure you will enjoy.

This map is not a regular map… It is a different kind of map. It leads through emotions, flutters, passion. And it is very personal. Very private…

The first time I heard / read about Map of the Heart was probably in one of the perfume discussion groups on Facebook. And I was so fascinated about this extremely unusual shaped bottle – yes, the shape of a real heart! – that it stuck with me ever since. Continue reading “Esxence Diary – Map of the Heart”→
Majda Bekkali sounds like a magical spell to me.. This is a name of a very creative and passionate lady, born in Morocco. And this relatively new fragrance house is with us since 2009.

As soon as I close my eyes I can instantly envision the beautifully shaped bottles. They are like stones – so smooth and sleek like the ones caressed by the constant movement of waves… And those colourful ‘stones’ fit your hand perfectly, just like a favourite mug, the one and only… Now, the scents that fill those gorgeous bottles are purely exceptional pieces of art. Each one of them is telling a different story, with passion for life pulsing through.. Continue reading “Esxence Diary – Majda Bekkali”→
Lovely Irish weather outside! 🙂 A perfect day to sample something new. Today it’s The Merchant of Venice.

It is a rare rainy day this year in Ireland, and I happen to have a day off, too. What a delight! As I can finally catch up on the perfumes samples from the Esxence fragrance show. It is so nice to see the fields and grass getting back to their usual green.. Continue reading “Esxence Diary – The Merchant of Venice”→
There are scents which I still love since my early days. Like a scent of rain on a hot summer day.. Or a scent of freshly ironed, steamed clothes.. Or a smell of freshly picked raspberries from a forest… Or that weirdly attractive scent at the shoe repairs… 🙂 Also, I’ve always had an attachment to water colours, and painting in general. And for me as a kid, the best time to paint was when it was raining.. (Now, let me remind you, that was the pre-computer, pre-smart phone era…. 🙂 when apart from going to school, and a couple of chores at home, kids had pretty much all the free time to play outside… 🙂 )
