And here it is. It has arrived. With a bang! But quietly 🙂

It’s like…you know me.. and you don’t. It’s like a friend you haven’t seen for years – I thought I knew you to the core, from the inside out – but whoever is standing in front of me now is a completely different person. Transformed. Fresh. Awake. Vibrant.

I sat down to gather my thoughts today after spraying Chanel No5 L’Eau on one wrist and Eau Premiere on the other..

They were so alike the very first seconds! That old friend you unexpectedly saw standing further away – that first second hit you with a feeling or a memory!… But then you come closer, get into it deeper.. and suddenly No5 L’Eau captures my attention with zesty citrus notes. It is so quick, so swift, so sudden! It develops into beautiful sensual flowery notes – there is jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang. And the closer I get to that old friend, the more it transforms into a new one – I don’t know you at all anymore! On a bed of cedar and musk there comes a vibrant yet sweet and gentle high-speed action! I turn around to sniff Eau Premiere, and I get warmth, stability, wisdom…

There has always been that question somewhere in the back of my head – what is it about Chanel No5 that attracts women so much?… It is definitely recognizable from 10 feet way 🙂 But as a kid over the years I would always associate it with 50+ y/o ladies… and it definitely wasn’t speaking to me then 🙂

Today, as I have grown to like No5 and have discovered how much each version differs from one another, today was like opening ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ by J.D.Salinger or ‘On the Road’ by Jack Kerouac again after two decades… It is not that the fragrance brought me back to my teenage years… On the contrary, it has managed to catch and close that gap of time that was dividing me then and me now! Oh how lucky the young ladies are now as they are able to explore and enjoy such a gem, as Chanel has definitely mastered to transform heritage into a contemporary tale..

So, today I uncovered a new power of perfume – time travel 🙂
