Miss Intense – Coco Mademoiselle Intense Perfume Review

Hello, my dearest perfume lovers,

I have just come back from a short day trip to London, which was a very pleasant surprise/ present from my husband. With very little time and so many things to see, I was very lucky to have also visited two perfume boutiques that specialize in niche fragrances – Les Senteurs and Bloom Perfumery. A separate post is yet to follow πŸ™‚

And today I would like to share with you my first impressions of a new fragrance from Chanel – Coco Mademoiselle Intense (EDP).

I stopped by one of Chanel boutiques in Covent Garden very much by accident, and was so surprised to find the new Intense there! It was not for sale just yet, and I got a little taster sample from the store.

The original Coco Mademoiselle (EDP) was one of the very first perfumes that I bought years ago, when my fragrance collection was not a collection yet… Something probably closer to 3 bottles… πŸ™‚ So the Mademoiselle aroma is very known to me, and very recognizable.

I must say, I was very happy to discover the new Intense version smelled so very similar to the original eau de parfum, just literally – more intense! πŸ™‚

When compared one to one, I find the eau de parfum slightly sharper, fruitier, fresher. Whereas the Intense version on my skin smells richer, sweeter, deeper, thicker, dirtier….more mature, more evening-like… more daring…

The original EDP would last on my skin for a couple of hours, and I would usually associate it with spring, early summer mornings, when the weather is warm yet still crispy.

While the new Intense surprised me with great performance of over 12+ hours! With same intensity, same patchouli/ vanilla richness throughout the day (and night)… Beautiful!

I am actually so glad that the master perfumer Olivier Polge did not veer off too far from the original fragrance, created by his father Jacques Polge… Because I am probably more emotionally attached to the aroma itself, which now comes in an intense version πŸ™‚

So all together, in my opinion, if you like Coco Mademoiselle, you will love the new Coco Mademoiselle Intense.

Give it a try, see for yourselves, for as always the perfume on your skin might smell very different from the blotter, and you might discover something completely different πŸ™‚ I would love to hear your ideas and experience! Please comment bellow πŸ™‚

P.S. The perfume is pre-launching at the Chanel boutique at Covent Garden in London today, Friday 23rd February, 2018. And at all other official Chanel counters across the UK and the Republic of Ireland – on Thursday 1st March.

P.S.S. Thank you to the lovely store assistants from the Chanel boutique at Covent Garden for their generosity and friendly chat.

Happy sniffing!

Bonjour Project

Hi all,

Bonjour Project | photo by BonjourPerfume

I’m setting myself off on a little project. Made a nice cup of tea, and here it goes..

For the following few weeks I will be posting miniature blogs from my day, all related to fragrance, in one way or another..

1. Scent of the Day (#SOTD)

I’m starting and ending this day with a spritz of Coco by Chanel, a classic and all time favorite.. ❀

2. Little discoveries of the day

Today was a lovely day in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital. I popped into Douglas – a cosmetics, make up, and perfume store. There are very many beautiful things there, from usual fragrances that you’d find in Irish pharmacies, to brands like Molinard, Nejma Collection, Nobile 1942, to mention just a few.. and according to their magazine, they also stock The Merchant of Venice – a brand which I have never laid my hands (or nose πŸ™‚ ) on yet – so that’s definitely something I will be on the look out.

Also, I found a Lithuanian version of L’Officiel magazine, November- December issue for 3.90 euros. What’s not to like? πŸ™‚ I have flicked through it and saw a lovely interview with Francis Kurkdjian, the nose and creator at Maison Francis Kurkdjian (MFK) whom I had an exclusive chance to meet in Paris last year. He has visited Vilnius recently, thanks to Creme de la Creme Haute Parfumerie organized event. So, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee morning already – it will be an interesting read for sure!

Obviously, I had to stop by at Creme de la Creme in Panorama Shopping Centre πŸ™‚ By the way, this shopping centre and the store itself, both deserve a separate blog post each, as there is so much fashion and class in there! I nearly got lost maybe three times walking around in the building, and that was just first floor… πŸ™‚ Panorama is celebrating their birthday this weekend – so discounts up to 20%-50% in nearly all stores! Something definitely worth planning ahead for next year πŸ˜‰

But Creme de la Creme literally blew my mind… just the amount of different perfume brands!!, and only a few of them I am familiar with… (everything in its own time, I suppose).. Parfums de Marly, Amouage, Carner Barcelona, Frederic Malle, and of course Maison Francis Kurkdjian.. I was very happy to see Grand Soir and Petit Matin, along with Baccarat Rouge 540 among that huge collection of exclusive fragrances. (By the way, Lumiere Noire pour femme is on the blotter in the picture – a beautiful rose patchouli πŸ™‚ )

The third perfume store of the day – Rituals, again in Panorama. And I just love Rituals, this gorgeous brand from the Netherlands! πŸ™‚ they have two new oriental fragrances in store – Victoire D’Ambre (which is more feminine) and Palace D’Ambre (more of a unisex amber), both 39 euros for 50ml, or a travel size 10ml (cutest bottles ever!) for only 9.50 euros – a bargain and quality πŸ™‚ ❀

3. Something to be thankful for

This day was full of aromas.. not only fragrance but also coffee, candles, leather shoes, traffic, long forgotten foods, and most of all – the freshness of chilly autumn.. it feels like the cold air freezes your nose and lungs, but then it is so much more wonderful to come back to a cozy warm home… and put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea πŸ™‚ (I must be really becoming Irish at this stage… πŸ™‚ ) so, I am thankful for this lovely opportunity to come back to this beautiful fragrant city Vilnius, as every time it surprises me in so many different ways… ❀

Grand so… I’m off to bed… πŸ™‚ and if all is well, I will come back tomorrow with another blog post.

P.s. the prices and store locations are correct at the time of posting this blog, 12th November, 2017.

Getting to Know You – Chanel No5 L’Eau

And here it is. It has arrived. With a bang! But quietly πŸ™‚

It’s like…you know me.. and you don’t. It’s like a friend you haven’t seen for years – I thought I knew you to the core, from the inside out – but whoever is standing in front of me now is a completely different person. Transformed. Fresh. Awake. Vibrant.

I sat down to gather my thoughts today after spraying ChanelΒ No5 L’Eau on one wrist and Eau Premiere on the other..

Autumn warmer – Chanel Allure Sensuelle

Ever since the days started getting shorter and the evenings – chillier, I can feel the winter slowly but surely creeping on… We were lucky as we had a gorgeous September this year in Ireland. But there’s a moody day and it feels like that rain and drizzle will never stop….

So, I reach for a bottle of Chanel – Allure Sensuelle Eau de Toilette.. I make myself a giant cup of coffee – freshly ground, with warm soya milk and a spoonful of honey.. And wrap myself in a soft woolly jumper… That moment is precious as I can sink into a different world of aromas.. And I cannot stop sniffing my wrist! πŸ™‚
