For the last week I have been wearing Dzintars Opera Classic every day. It is such a delicate fruity / floral perfume that I cannot get enough of… 🙂
According to Fragrantica, the top notes are Neroli, Orange and Red Berries; middle notes are Gardenia, Magnolia and Pink Peony; base notes are Honey, Blackwood and Patchouli. I think it is the magnolia, peony, and red berries that make me want to dance, and I feel so feminine when I wear it… The scent is refreshingly sweet and lasts 6+ hrs on my skin.
Also, I think I am more emotionally attached to this perfume and the brand itself, because Dzintars is the closest thing to a Lithuanian perfume in my collection… And as years go by, I am finally beginning to find something from the fragrance world that has a strong connection with me…
I purchased Opera Classic in 2017. It was the last time I got to walk the streets of Riga, Latvia. It is such a beautiful city, I have great memories from that trip. You can re-visit my short blog post about this holiday here 🙂
Dzintars, the Latvian cosmetics giant, declared bankruptcy in 2019. But by the looks of their website and social media channels, they are still operating, only with a much smaller produce, selling mainly sun creams and body care products, no perfumes unfortunately. They do deliver to European countries, so it is worth checking out if you are interested.
Have you heard of Dzintars before? Or maybe you have a favourite scent? 🙂
A quick snap of one of the most refreshing summer scents in my fragrance wardrobe – juicy, spicy, fruity, woody – Eau Des Merveilles by Hermes. I always feel like with a box of salty bitter oranges in my face when I wear it 🙂
Stash SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker is an ideal summer scent in Ireland for me.
As we are approaching the hottest days this year, 25 C degrees is not that hot compared to other countries…. However, it is scorching for people who are not used to this kind of heat. A win-win situation – spend your day at the beach and wear your best summer fragrance! 🙂
And my choice is so perfect for just that. Stash SJP as an aromatic woody scent has a vibe of sunscreen lotion and oud! I feel like swimming in a bath with coconuts and other fruits, eating ice cream, and enjoying a breezy, refreshing woody aromas…. Yes – fruity, creamy, cooling and warming at the same time – Stash SJP has it all.
I remember purchasing Stash SJP as it just came out, so must be somewhere around 2016 – 2017. It is of great quality after all these years, and for the fraction of the price compared to other designer brands.
According to Fragrantica, Stash SJP “begins with notes of fresh grapefruit, black pepper and aromatic sage. Its heart notes include Atlas cedar, patchouli, ginger lily and pistachios, laid on the warm woody base of olibanum, massoia wood, vetiver and musk”. So no coconuts or oud there, I am afraid! 🙂 But I think it definitely performs better on a hot day…. 🙂
Three days in a row with the same scent – it is a winner for me after all 🙂
Have you tried Stash SJP yet? What are your thoughts?
Catching the last rays of today’s sunlight through a bottle of aromatic winter.
The Burren Perfumery and its masterpiece – Winter Woods. This fragrance is so versatile! It is at the same time warm and cooling, herbal and woody, so I find it very easy to wear at any time of the year.
Today I decided to visit my sample of Tom Ford’s Rose Prick. Did I ever tell you how much I love rose – patchouli combination in fragrances? No? Well… it is my favourite 🙂 Along with rose – oud… 🙂 Whenever I divert to other perfume notes, overtime I still circle back to my basics. And Rose Prick has hit the spot in my day today 🙂
This Bank Holiday weekend brings many reasons to celebrate – 1st of May is Lily-of-the-Valley day in the world of perfumery and also some countries will celebrate Mother’s Day on the first Sunday of May which is tomorrow 🙂
So for me this weekend is all about the beautiful fragrant spring flowers – Lilies-of-the-Valley.
