There are scents which I still love since my early days. Like a scent of rain on a hot summer day.. Or a scent of freshly ironed, steamed clothes.. Or a smell of freshly picked raspberries from a forest… Or that weirdly attractive scent at the shoe repairs… 🙂 Also, I’ve always had an attachment to water colours, and painting in general. And for me as a kid, the best time to paint was when it was raining.. (Now, let me remind you, that was the pre-computer, pre-smart phone era…. 🙂 when apart from going to school, and a couple of chores at home, kids had pretty much all the free time to play outside… 🙂 )
Somewhere deep deep in the rural West of Ireland, where the wind is nasty and the people are kind, where the waters are vast and the mist (it may seem so) doesn’t clear away… where it either rains or pours… Somewhere deep in West Cork, on the coast of the Atlantic, there are myriads of tiny fishing villages and mini fjords where you can go whale watching or climb the rocks… And the waters are so blue!
If you ever feel like going on a road trip and getting lost, this is a place – Unionhall, Castletownshend, Glandore, Rinneen…
My journey with Zoologist Perfumes started quite a while ago, I suppose around the time when their Civet won the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2017, and I got slightly deeper into browsing through online forums and perfume related groups on Facebook. The artwork back then fascinated me the most! Those beautifully drawn animals, so elegantly dressed in suits, and robes, and dresses – I’d never seen anything like that before! And one year in, I am finally able to try these beauties on my skin.

Dear fragrance enthusiasts, lovers, admirers..
I would like to share with you a new series of posts. And this time they will be dedicated to the perfume show Esxence, which took place in Milan just recently, in the beginning of April, 2018. This was the tenth anniversary of this show! 🙂 I was so lucky to attend it, and would like to share this experience with you during the next couple of weeks.

Dear fragrance lovers and admirers,
Today I would like to introduce you to a very new cycle – Olfactive Voyages. These will be the journeys more likely related to a certain perfume brand than an actual place on our planet Earth… This topic will venture into uncovered grounds… Everything out of the ordinary will be gathered here… A very new concept to me too, as it is purely out of my comfort zone…
I have been stuck for words for the last two-three weeks, trying to unravel this huge ball of smells, memories, emotions, feelings.. Trying to brainstorm through, hardly with any success… But the time has come and I would like you to meet Imaginary Authors. Continue reading “Olfactive Voyages – Imaginary Authors”
With one eclipse behind us and another one on the way, the time in between feels rather tense and sensitive, yet buzzing, even sizzling!
And I am kicking off this February properly – with three new serums from a French niche brand Nejma Collection. Their perfumes are inspired by the Far East and the Oriental Fairy tale about a beautiful, radiant woman called Nejma and her love story. Hence, the name Nejma meaning Lucky Star.
