Bonjour Project – Days 14 & 15

Time flies enormously fast. Every single moment is of such value these days that I can barely hold on to this train. At the same time it feels like I’ve been writing this blog for two months already, and only because of the title these posts I can actually base myself.. Two full weeks. What have I discovered? What have I learnt?..

1. #SOTD Patchouli Intense by Parfums de Nicolai. Needed something to ground myself.. And I really don’t know why I think patchouli fragrances should have the stabilizing effect.. but for me they do…

I have also wandered into Douglas today just to test few perfumes. The ones that caught my eye (and nose) were: Tom Ford – Noir Pour Femme, Hermes – 24 Faubourg, and Molinard – Rose Emois. All very different..allΒ  worth a siff or a skin test, at least…

2. Little discoveries of the day

Great news – from today some 80 coffee shops, restaurants, hotels in Vilnius are organizing Free Coffee Sunday mornings for the Seniors. People get to meet up, make new friends, sing a song or two together. I think it is a wonderful idea, as socializing in Lithuania differs from Ireland. On the Island people are more used to this, they are more chatty, go out more often. Whereas here in Lithuania, people tend to be more reserved, they wouldn’t start talking to a stranger just for the sake of talking, even about the weather… So, a free coffee morning – a beautiful step to bridge people together.

3. Something to be thankful for

I had my last day at the theatre today. I have had an amazing time with the girls, and am grateful for this given opportunity to test myself, to improve my language and customer service skills, and also for the chance to watch few plays, as a little reward.. The people who work there behind the scenes preparing, organizing, managing everything what a customer doesn’t get to see – they are a wonderful bunch of honest, hard working, and truly artistic and talented people. I has been an honor to spend the time with them. Thank you, Vilniaus Mazasis Teatras πŸ™‚

P.S. If you are ever in Vilnius on Sunday morning / afternoon, check the theatre’s repertoire for children plays. These could be the two hours in your life that bring you joy and laughter, as there is always something of value for adults, too..

Bonjour Project – Days 14 & 15

Bonjour Project – Day 13

Hello my dear friends,

Today has been a lucky day πŸ˜‰

1. #SOTD – a mixture of very many The Merchant of Venice perfumes, but at the end I layered my scarf with Lyric from Amouage… just because it was there on a shelf, staring at me… and now I feel it everywhere… it is my favorite fragrance from this brand.. πŸ™‚

2. Little discoveries of the day

So the big Black Friday has arrived and, I must say, the traffic in the city was just nuts… all the shopping centers covered with people and discounts… and, depending on a store, this madness is more than likely to continue through out the weekend… My only advice – arm yourselves with patience! πŸ™‚

As planned, I finally went to Akropolis – one of the biggest shopping centers in Vilnius. Douglas is the only cosmetics and perfume store there stocking The Merchant of Venice – the brand I always wanted to try.

They have the Murano collection in store and online and they have just received the Murano Exclusive! So there’s double the satisfaction for the lovers of this brand! I can say, Rococo is really worth starting with, it’s delicious and seductive… πŸ˜‰ I also liked the other three – Rosa Moceniga, Flower Fusion, and Byzantium Saffron, which are from the Murano collection. All in all, I would love to have any of them just for the bottle – it is beyond cute! ❀

3. Something to be thankful for

I had my second training session at Shaolin Lithuania… it was nice to see the friendliness of the team, how they all treat each other like equal, with respect and gratitude. And that’s from 3 to 30+ year olds … πŸ™‚ you feel like you’re among best friends the very first time you walk in there.. Thank you, Shaolin Lithuania, for changing the lives of the future generation in the country, thank you for bringing them discipline and correct attitude towards the World in front of them…

Pay them a visit whenever you’re around πŸ™‚ classes take place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I can assure you, you won’t regret it πŸ™‚

Enjoy your weekend!

Bonjour Project – Day 13

Bonjour Project

Hi all,

Bonjour Project | photo by BonjourPerfume

I’m setting myself off on a little project. Made a nice cup of tea, and here it goes..

For the following few weeks I will be posting miniature blogs from my day, all related to fragrance, in one way or another..

1. Scent of the Day (#SOTD)

I’m starting and ending this day with a spritz of Coco by Chanel, a classic and all time favorite.. ❀

2. Little discoveries of the day

Today was a lovely day in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital. I popped into Douglas – a cosmetics, make up, and perfume store. There are very many beautiful things there, from usual fragrances that you’d find in Irish pharmacies, to brands like Molinard, Nejma Collection, Nobile 1942, to mention just a few.. and according to their magazine, they also stock The Merchant of Venice – a brand which I have never laid my hands (or nose πŸ™‚ ) on yet – so that’s definitely something I will be on the look out.

Also, I found a Lithuanian version of L’Officiel magazine, November- December issue for 3.90 euros. What’s not to like? πŸ™‚ I have flicked through it and saw a lovely interview with Francis Kurkdjian, the nose and creator at Maison Francis Kurkdjian (MFK) whom I had an exclusive chance to meet in Paris last year. He has visited Vilnius recently, thanks to Creme de la Creme Haute Parfumerie organized event. So, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee morning already – it will be an interesting read for sure!

Obviously, I had to stop by at Creme de la Creme in Panorama Shopping Centre πŸ™‚ By the way, this shopping centre and the store itself, both deserve a separate blog post each, as there is so much fashion and class in there! I nearly got lost maybe three times walking around in the building, and that was just first floor… πŸ™‚ Panorama is celebrating their birthday this weekend – so discounts up to 20%-50% in nearly all stores! Something definitely worth planning ahead for next year πŸ˜‰

But Creme de la Creme literally blew my mind… just the amount of different perfume brands!!, and only a few of them I am familiar with… (everything in its own time, I suppose).. Parfums de Marly, Amouage, Carner Barcelona, Frederic Malle, and of course Maison Francis Kurkdjian.. I was very happy to see Grand Soir and Petit Matin, along with Baccarat Rouge 540 among that huge collection of exclusive fragrances. (By the way, Lumiere Noire pour femme is on the blotter in the picture – a beautiful rose patchouli πŸ™‚ )

The third perfume store of the day – Rituals, again in Panorama. And I just love Rituals, this gorgeous brand from the Netherlands! πŸ™‚ they have two new oriental fragrances in store – Victoire D’Ambre (which is more feminine) and Palace D’Ambre (more of a unisex amber), both 39 euros for 50ml, or a travel size 10ml (cutest bottles ever!) for only 9.50 euros – a bargain and quality πŸ™‚ ❀

3. Something to be thankful for

This day was full of aromas.. not only fragrance but also coffee, candles, leather shoes, traffic, long forgotten foods, and most of all – the freshness of chilly autumn.. it feels like the cold air freezes your nose and lungs, but then it is so much more wonderful to come back to a cozy warm home… and put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea πŸ™‚ (I must be really becoming Irish at this stage… πŸ™‚ ) so, I am thankful for this lovely opportunity to come back to this beautiful fragrant city Vilnius, as every time it surprises me in so many different ways… ❀

Grand so… I’m off to bed… πŸ™‚ and if all is well, I will come back tomorrow with another blog post.
