L’Artisan Parfumeur – Jour de Fete

Many years ago I blind bought this bottle just because I thought it might smell good – French artisany name, and all.. 😊 And then I tried it in the middle of a very hot summer day, like 5 sprays… 😁 Oh dear god! I suffocated for the rest of the afternoon in that almond essence and swore to never wear it again! 😁😁

Well, I’ve just stumbled across it again this evening.. and thought it shouldn’t kill me if I tried.. 😁
With the hope that maybe over the years I’ve learnt to appreciate notes in a fragrance that little bit differently… 😉

And what a delicious scent it turns out to be!
It is slightly powdery with iris on a bed of almond essence, with a touch of sweet vanilla and wheat, but nothing cloying as I happened to experience at first.. 😊

Jour de Fete is such a delight! It is a happy scent, just like the one that fills the kitchen when you’re baking a sweet cake at home in autumn.. Yumm.. 😊
