Today was the very first day I ever saw the thermometer bar reach 30 C heat in Ireland… After ten years, I can hardly remember what that feels like… Our usual Irish weather would be a balmy 16 C, rain or shine.. ok ok, sometimes we would get an odd 20 C, but only for a day or two… This time, the record breaking heat wave is set to stay with us for another two weeks!
On one hand, I love it! I missed it so badly! I can finally put on shorts and sandals! And that sleeveless top that I bought ages ago and never got to wear it…because, to be honest, it was always feckin freezing outside!.. it is also lovely to see and feel the sun on your skin, for a change… and the light blue sea is glistening.. and the people seem genuinely happy.. what more could you want.. 🙂
On the other hand, … no, wait, there are no negatives! 😀 maybe one tiny challenge – what perfume to wear in this kind of heat? Personally, I am still attached to my first love – Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue, the original… 🙂 Also, sometimes, I would go for Dior – Escale a Portofino… but today I am enjoying Verveine by L’Occitane en Provence, the beautifully refreshing and slightly sweet lemon verbena with rose. 🙂 ❤
What are your go-to scents during very warm weather? Or do you wear perfume at all?… 🙂
Enjoy! Two of my favorites for the very hot, very humid weather we get are Hermes’ Un Jardin Apres la Mousson and Un Jardin Sur le Nil. They absolutely bloom in the heat but are also very refreshing! I am also enjoying Jo Loves’ White Rose and Lemon Leaves this summer, and two of Lili Bermuda’s: Lily, and Coral.

Oh thank you so much! I love Hermès 🙂
Now I’ve so many other perfumes to source and try! 🙂 ❤ … you’ve reminded me about Jo Loves, I’ll see how Pomelo performs…. 🙂 thank you!

I don’t like hot weather but it doesn’t prevent me from wearing perfumes. To the office I wear transparent Jo Malone perfumes (e.g., Earl Gray & Cucumber or Assam & Grapefruit), but if I’m on a vacation, I choose heavier perfumes that behave nicely in heat – Byredo Pulp or Bal d’Afrique, Diptyque Volutes or Duelle.
