Dear friends,
Here’s just a little taster of a jewel that I recently discovered in Kristiana in Vilnius.
#SOTD – Dali by Salvador Dali ๐
It is the first fragrance by Dali, created in the 1983. This is a perfectly balanced scent, created for his muse Gala, the love of his life.
It is so balsamic, creamy, and powdery.. At first I was nearly afraid of it, of that deep yellow/ brown juice… but what a lovely bouquet of flowers hit me at an instant, with a well distinguishable lilly of the valley and jasmine.. changing into so many other notes, aldehydes, that I was just sniffing and sniffing my wrist trying to recognize them all… ๐
I woke up this morning with a light creamy whiff of Dali on my skin… and I will give it ago for a second day… It is a perfect winter scent, there’s so much depth to it… ๐

P.s. “Among the five senses, smell is unquestionably the one that best gives the idea of immortality.” Salvador Dali
The only Dali scent that Iโve tried is Laguna – I liked it but never wore myself. But for a while now Iโve been contemplating buying a couple of his other perfumes – to have those bottles and to finally try them since these arenโt expensive but are not available anywhere in the stores around to try. Iโm curious now about this perfume: it sounds right for the season.
BTW, nice quote! I havenโt seen it before.

Thank you for your lovely comment, and I am happy to interest you in Dali again ๐ I have Laguna, too! It is a lovely, fresh, summery scent. I have heard a lot of compliments about La Belle et L’Ocelot, so I’d say it is also worth trying ๐ If you do get Dali, I hope you will enjoy it – let me know how you get on โค

I have this, in a set of four Salvador Dali minis (Laguna, Salvador Dali parfum, Eau de Dali eau de toilette, and Dali), all shaped like the famous Aphrodite nose and lips. You’re right, it’s beautiful! It’s also very potent; one drop on my wrist from the mini dabber, and I can smell it clearly from an arm’s length away. I believe it was created by Alberto Morillas.

Thank you for you comment! It was indeed Alberto Morillas. I think I got slightly weaker version as mine has to be applied and applied through the day… And the parfum is indeed much more rich, intense… A great collection, all together ๐ Have you tried La Belle et L’Ocelot?

No, I haven’t, but I lust after that bottle, especially the flanker in pink. So pretty and unique!

[…] between the Salvador Dali perfume (you may find a little review on it in a previous blog post, from Day 16) and Love, Chloe. Dali tends to disappear off my skin in a few hours, and I felt like applying it […]
