Hi all,
I’m setting myself off on a little project. Made a nice cup of tea, and here it goes..
For the following few weeks I will be posting miniature blogs from my day, all related to fragrance, in one way or another..
1. Scent of the Day (#SOTD)
I’m starting and ending this day with a spritz of Coco by Chanel, a classic and all time favorite.. β€
2. Little discoveries of the day
Today was a lovely day in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital. I popped into Douglas – a cosmetics, make up, and perfume store. There are very many beautiful things there, from usual fragrances that you’d find in Irish pharmacies, to brands like Molinard, Nejma Collection, Nobile 1942, to mention just a few.. and according to their magazine, they also stock The Merchant of Venice – a brand which I have never laid my hands (or nose π ) on yet – so that’s definitely something I will be on the look out.
Also, I found a Lithuanian version of L’Officiel magazine, November- December issue for 3.90 euros. What’s not to like? π I have flicked through it and saw a lovely interview with Francis Kurkdjian, the nose and creator at Maison Francis Kurkdjian (MFK) whom I had an exclusive chance to meet in Paris last year. He has visited Vilnius recently, thanks to Creme de la Creme Haute Parfumerie organized event. So, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s coffee morning already – it will be an interesting read for sure!
Obviously, I had to stop by at Creme de la Creme in Panorama Shopping Centre π By the way, this shopping centre and the store itself, both deserve a separate blog post each, as there is so much fashion and class in there! I nearly got lost maybe three times walking around in the building, and that was just first floor… π Panorama is celebrating their birthday this weekend – so discounts up to 20%-50% in nearly all stores! Something definitely worth planning ahead for next year π
But Creme de la Creme literally blew my mind… just the amount of different perfume brands!!, and only a few of them I am familiar with… (everything in its own time, I suppose).. Parfums de Marly, Amouage, Carner Barcelona, Frederic Malle, and of course Maison Francis Kurkdjian.. I was very happy to see Grand Soir and Petit Matin, along with Baccarat Rouge 540 among that huge collection of exclusive fragrances. (By the way, Lumiere Noire pour femme is on the blotter in the picture – a beautiful rose patchouli π )
The third perfume store of the day – Rituals, again in Panorama. And I just love Rituals, this gorgeous brand from the Netherlands! π they have two new oriental fragrances in store – Victoire D’Ambre (which is more feminine) and Palace D’Ambre (more of a unisex amber), both 39 euros for 50ml, or a travel size 10ml (cutest bottles ever!) for only 9.50 euros – a bargain and quality π β€
3. Something to be thankful for
This day was full of aromas.. not only fragrance but also coffee, candles, leather shoes, traffic, long forgotten foods, and most of all – the freshness of chilly autumn.. it feels like the cold air freezes your nose and lungs, but then it is so much more wonderful to come back to a cozy warm home… and put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea π (I must be really becoming Irish at this stage… π ) so, I am thankful for this lovely opportunity to come back to this beautiful fragrant city Vilnius, as every time it surprises me in so many different ways… β€
Grand so… I’m off to bed… π and if all is well, I will come back tomorrow with another blog post.
