Rose Notes for Spring | Photo by Jessica Young

All things floral, all things rose..

It is all about the Sun and the wonderful things he does. Stuck in our routines, some of us forget to lift our heads to look around and see the changes in nature, experience the little things, feel the Sun rays on our faces.. But to the ones who do this, or at least try, I sing with joy! πŸ™‚ I know, it’s foggy and all today..but it doesn’t stop the heart to leap with delight – spring is here!

I sit in my newly painted green room, listen to birdies sing outside and waves crash far away… In some weird way..I feel like I’m in love! What a long forgotten sensation.. πŸ™‚ This New Year has already brought so many changes around with such a speed that in order to keep up with the flow I just need to hold on tighter and enjoy the journey… And I am! πŸ™‚

So, today’s journey brought me some lovely floral fragrances with rose note. They are all so different but also light and creamy, just perfect for March – April Easter holidays.

I would like to begin with Christian Dior – J’adore Lumiere, it is a new 2016 Eau de Toilette version. It sits beautifully on the skin, like a silk gown so light and feathery and fresh. Top notes include blood orange and lemon, enveloping into rose and magnolia heart, blended with gentle vanilla and sandalwood base. It is suitable for all day wear as it is so lovely πŸ™‚

Next on my shelf I have a cute bottle of Tresor In Love by Lancome. This fragrance was launched in 2010 March, and I can agree that it is a beautiful start of any year. It is fruity, floral, sweet, with cedar wood as base note. I picked it up one morning after shower and was happy with my choice all day – it was all peaches, roses, jasmines, nectarines and pears! Sweet but not too sickly, a beautifully balanced fragrance.

The smell of rose in the following two fragrances I find quite aquatic, cold, even sharp. It is a Dolce Rosa Excelsa by Dolce&Gabbana, released in early 2016; and Trussardi Delicate Rose by Trussardi, launched in autumn 2012. They both are floral, fruity, airy scents and I love them both. However, I find that they would suit more a hotter spring day, as they are quite cooling. It must be the Italian weather I need! πŸ™‚ Well, this is definitely on my to-do list! πŸ˜‰

And finally, I would like to conclude today’s journey with Penhaligon’s – Peoneve EDP. I stumbled upon this beauty in Penhaligon’s store in Kildare Village Outlet. To be honest, I was mainly drawn to a gorgeous flower on the bottle.. πŸ™‚ More often blind buys don’t dissapoint me..and this was the case of love at first sniff πŸ™‚ Yes, peony is quite the queen in this perfume but it delightfully blends with rose and violet leaf, with vetiver and musk as base notes. This perfume is a blast of colour! I could easily see a lady wearing a wide brim hat, sitting in a sunny garden, and there would be bees circling around her…. because she smells like a flower… πŸ™‚

There are so many other perfumes with rose as top or heart note! And surely, as the days get brighter, I will come back with another post about them… Until then, spread the joy, listen to your heart, and always always stay positive! πŸ™‚ ❀
